How to install a font on your computer
In order to use a Stitching Cards font in your word processor, or other programs where you can type words, you must install it in your fonts folder.
Installing your font is a simple procedure. If you follow these instructions it will take 1 to 5 minutes.
The font is supplied in a zip folder. Download and save the file to your computer. Make a note of the place where you saved the file.
Once you have downloaded the file navigate to the folder where it is saved. If you are using Microsoft Windows right click on the zip folder and select "Extract All..." from the pop-up box that appears (other operating systems may need a zip extraction program). This will extract the font file and instructions. You will be asked where you want to extract the font files. This can be to the same folder or you can choose to save the files in another folder. Installation instructions are included with the font file.
Adding a font in Microsoft Windows
(There are instructions for Apple Mac OS X further down the page.)
This demonstration is based on Microsoft Windows XP. The appearance of the symbols and folders will vary with other versions of Windows.
1. Go to Windows desktop and double click on the "My Computer" icon (shown below).

2. The "My Computer" window will now be opened. Click on "Control Panel" to open the control panel folder.

3. Double Click on the "Fonts" icon to open the fonts folder.

4. With the "Fonts" window open you are able to view all the fonts installed on your computer.

5. Click on the "File" menu and when the dop-down menu appears select "Install New Font...".

6. The "Add Fonts" window will appear.

7. Find the directory with the font you want to install.
8. Highlight the Stitching Cards font to install from the "List of fonts" window.

9. Click OK. You should see the Install bar working.
10. Your font is now ready to use in any program that types words, to create patterns for stitching your greetings.
Drag and drop method
We understand that some versions of Windows do not have the "Install New Font" command. In that event you could use the "Drag and drop" method. Open two versions of "My computer", one with the fonts folder open and the other with the folder containing the font to be installed. Place your mouse over the new font file, press down on the left mouse button and keeping your finger pressed on the font file, drag it into the font folder (shown below). The font is now installed.

Notes
When you have finished installing the font you will find it in your font folder under the name Stitching Cards.
The fonts are designed to work well at sizes from 30 to 50.
Adding a font in Apple Mac OS X
Extract the font file from the zip folder. See above for information on zipped files.
You may install fonts by copying or dragging font files to any of the standard Fonts folders in Mac OS X. For example it can be installed at ~/Library/Fonts/.
