Stitching Cards at www.stitchingcards.comHow to add a font to your computerIn order to use a Stitching Cards font in your word processor, or other programs where you can type words, you must install it in your fonts folder. It is a simple procedure. If you follow these instructions it will take 1 to 5 minutes. The font is supplied in a zip folder. Download and save the font file to your computer. Make a note of the place where you saved the file. Please note that the font file must be extracted from the zip folder to a folder of your choice before you can install it. It can not go directly from the zip folder to the fonts folder. The name of the font file is StitchingCards310.ttf. Adding a font in Microsoft Windows(There are instructions for Apple Mac OS X further down the page.) This demonstration is based on Microsoft Windows XP. If you are running an earlier version of Windows then you may need some extra software to extract files from the zip folder. If you do not have unzipping software it is available free from various web sites including UltimateZip. (popup link) To extract the font file from the zip folder1. Open My Computer. To open My Computer, click Start.
2. Then click My Computer.
3. Locate the zip file that you downloaded. You can identify compressed zip folders by the zipper on the folder icon.
4. Do one of the following:

6. Click Control Panel.
7. If Control Panel opens in Category View (shown below) then switch to Classic View.
8. Open Fonts in Control Panel with a double-click on Fonts.
9. On the File menu, click Install New Font.
10. To select your font in the Add Fonts menu:
Your font is now ready to use in any program that types words, to create patterns for stitching your greetings. NotesWhen you have finished installing the font you will find it in your font folder under the name Stitching Cards. The fonts are designed to work well at sizes from 30 to 50. You can also add TrueType fonts by dragging them from another location to the Fonts folder. You can not drag a file directly from the zip folder to the fonts folder, it must be extracted to another folder first. Adding a font in Apple Mac OS XExtract the font file from the zip folder. See above for information on zipped files. You may install fonts by copying or dragging font files to any of the standard Fonts folders in Mac OS X.
