Hi Everyone,
just thought I would drop by to see what everyone is up to? I have been doing stitching some Xmas cards, but now we are getting some lovely summer weather in the high 20's so I am outside enjoying the sunshine. I am here in New Zealand and my husband and I are travelling around NZ in our motorhome, love the lifestyle and doing just as we please, we pick up the odd bit of work here and there and we are on our way to the South Island.

| Hi Kiri, In the USA high 20's is blizzard weather. Long undies, hats and mittens. That is coming very soon. Our summers are in the 70's, 80's and 90's. Our weather numbers must be different that your's but I just thought I would let you know that I a envious of you at this time. I am just about to start making my fall jams. I have grape, strawberry, blackberry, and red raspberry to make. It will be a weekend project for me. I give most of it away at Christmas time. Enjoy your great weather Kiri. I will be thinking of you. Take care. |

Hello ladies, I am busy making xmas cards. Our clock went back few weeks ago, so days are getting shorter by the hour.
Pam, 20's degree sounds very frightening, we haven't had very bad weather (in south east of UK) for quite some time. Last year we had unexpected snow and London was at complete stand still ! You seem to keep very busy despite of the weather, jam making with all the lovely fruits is making my mouth water.
Kiri, travelling around NZ sounds exciting, special as the weather is changing for you all down under, but do take care and do not seat in the sun for to long. Like yourself, one of my friend and her husband are also travelling around NZ.
Loreta, so pleased to hear you are enjoying your new found craft. Stitching card is very addictive but very therapeutic, especially when one is stressed outed with the house work . Look forward to seeing your lovely creations in the gallery soon.

Hello everyone,
not looked in here for a while but I'm happy to say I am back into stitching a few cards ready for Christmas...now I have started don't want to put them down got no time for housework
You all sound very busy too, this hobby certainly does become addictive but can't think of anything else I would rather do as a pastime.
Hope you ok Jasu...my back ect. has been giving me lots of trouble since August thats why I've not done any stitching, lost all motivation for a while but I'm getting there.
Wish I was in NZ travelling around in the warmth of the sun ...sounds wonderful and so relaxing.

Hi Jasu,
congrats on having card of the week...don't mind you pinching my ideas at all, I have just tried out one of yours colouring in with chalk. After seeing your latest card on the FAL site and how lovely it looks thought I would try it on a Christmas tree I've just finished, as it was an after thought I realise that colouring in needs to be done first.
I'm looking forward Sunday when I go to the Winter Gardens theatre Blackpool to see my two grandaughters in the annual dance competitions, then next week the the dance school is performing for four nights at the theatre in my home town...the girls have a great time.
Well break over ...back to stitching

Hi Irene
Thank you, will post the cards in the gallery soon!
Irene, I normally stitch my cards first and then do the painting, whether painting with chalk, water colour or acrylics. I find stitched card helps with the boundary and also with the colours. I am not very artistic and just do things by trial and error !
Enjoy yourselves on Sunday, will keep my fingers and toes crossed hope your granddaughters wins the dance competitions.
I am make some progress with my cards, have only 4 more to make !
Take care
