Absolute beginners guide to downloading files

This demonstration is based on Microsoft Internet Explorer. Other browsers should work in a similar way.

Step 1. Do you have the Adobe reader installed on your computer? Not sure? then open one of our free patterns. Did this work? If "yes" then go to step 3. If "no" then go to step 2.

Step 2. If you don't have the Adobe reader then go to the Adobe web site and follow the instructions there to download and install the reader. Click here to go to the Adobe web site.

Step 3. If you have the Adobe reader installed then go to your Account Order Details page and click on the Download Now link of one of the patterns (as shown above).

Step 4. This will open a file download box. You have a choice of Open or Save. Click on "Save".

Step 5. A save box will open. Navigate to the folder on your computer where you want to save the file. Click the "Save" button. The file will download in about 30 seconds on a standard dial-up connection. If the pattern hasn't downloaded after a couple of minutes then there could be a traffic problem so please try again later.

Step 6. When the download is complete you can navigate to the folder on your computer where you saved the file. Open the pattern file in your Adobe Reader. You can then print the pattern.
